About Saudi Gold Refinery

Role Overview

Saudi Gold Refinery (SGR) is seeking a Junior Geologist in Saudi Arabia to support our expanding exploration portfolio across the Arabian Shield.

This role involves field mapping, sample management, and data analysis to identify and define gold and base metal resources.

The position is critical to SGR’s strategy of unlocking Saudi mineral wealth in alignment with Vision 2030.

The Junior Geologist will report directly to the Site Leader and will play a key role in executing exploration programs that feed into our pre-feasibility studies and resource growth.

You will work closely with senior technical staff to ensure high-quality data collection and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Geologist will be responsible for the following key areas of exploration and technical support.

- Field Geological Mapping

The role conducts detailed geological mapping and structural analysis in assigned exploration tenements to identify mineralized zones.

- Sample Collection And Management

This position manages the collection, labeling, and chain of custody for rock, soil, and drill core samples to ensure data integrity.

- Drill Core Logging

The Junior Geologist logs drill core for lithology, alteration, and mineralization, providing critical data for resource modeling.

- Database Management

The role enters and validates geological and assay data in the central database to support accurate resource estimation and reporting.

- Technical Reporting

This position prepares monthly exploration reports and technical summaries for submission to management and regulatory authorities.

- Hse Compliance

The Junior Geologist adheres to all HSE policies and participates in risk assessments to ensure safe field operations.

- Regulatory Liaison Support

The role assists in preparing technical data required for the maintenance and renewal of exploration licenses with MIM.

- Target Generation Support

This position integrates geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to help senior geologists identify new drill targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Earth Sciences from an accredited university.
  • 1-3 years of experience in mineral exploration, preferably in gold or base metals.
  • Proficiency in geological mapping, core logging, and geochemical sampling techniques.
  • Experience with geological database software such as AcQuire, Datamine, or Vulcan.
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC principles in assay sampling and data validation.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to work in remote field locations.
  • Fluency in English for technical reporting and communication.
  • Saudi nationality is preferred to support local content objectives.

Preferred And Nice-To-Have

  • Master’s degree in Economic Geology or a related field.
  • Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
  • Familiarity with JORC or NI 43-101 reporting standards.
  • Knowledge of the geology of the Arabian Shield and its mineral systems.

Success Metrics

  • Completion of geological mapping for assigned areas within the approved timeline.
  • Zero errors in sample chain-of-custody documentation and labeling.
  • Timely and accurate entry of field data into the geological database.
  • Identification of at least one new viable drill target per quarter.
  • 100% compliance with HSE standards during all field activities.
  • Positive feedback from senior geologists on the quality of core logging and reporting.
  • Successful submission of technical data for license renewal requirements.
