General Technician

Position Summary

Maintenance Duties

• Inspect and maintain tools, kitchen equipment, mechanical room equipment, and building systems.
• Identify, locate, and operate equipment and building utility shut-off valves.
• Maintain inventory and requisition maintenance parts and supplies.
• Perform painting, surface preparation, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, bulb replacement, filter replacement, and cleanup.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing, electrical components, equipment, internet devices, and guestroom items.
• Program televisions and perform housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping and external landscaping sprinklers.
• Enter air handler schedules and make temperature changes using basic computer systems.

Safety and Service Standards

• Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
• Follow company, safety, and security policies and report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, and injuries.
• Complete safety training and certifications and properly store flammable materials.
• Welcome guests, address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and communicate clearly and professionally.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and navigate stairs, ramps, and ladders.

Preferred Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance and interior or exterior surface preparation and painting is preferred.
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
• No supervisory experience is required.

Required Qualification

• A driver's license is required.

Schedule and Work Setting

• This is a full-time, on-site hotel facilities role in Dubai Marina.
• The position requires physical work throughout hotel rooms, equipment areas, buildings, landscaping areas, stairs, ramps, and ladders.
