The Role
We are seeking an energetic, entrepreneurial, and highly experienced General Manager to lead our team and execute our strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations, including safari logistics, itinerary planning, fleet management, and camp coordination.
- Strategic Growth: Develop and implement company business strategies to drive growth, increase market share, and improve financial returns.
- Financial Management: Develop budgets, monitor financial performance, manage costs, and negotiate rates with lodges and vendors.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor staff, including travel consultants, safari guides, and drivers to foster a supportive and high-performance culture.
- Guest Experience & Quality Control: Ensure first-class service delivery, adhering to high-quality standards and maintaining excellent client relationships.
- Compliance: Ensure full compliance with local regulatory requirements and tourism safety standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in a similar senior role within the tours and safari industry.
- Extensive experience with major tourist destination in East Africa.
- Verifiable leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, booking software).
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Entrepreneurial, calm under pressure, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for wildlife/tourism.
