The General Manager will lead and oversee all operational, commercial, and strategic aspects of the company, with a strong focus on construction, contracting, and real estate development projects.
The role requires driving business growth, ensuring project delivery excellence, optimizing financial performance, and maintaining compliance with UAE regulations while aligning with the company’s long-term vision.
1. Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the company’s strategic plan aligned with business objectives
- Identify growth opportunities in contracting and real estate development sectors
- Lead expansion initiatives, partnerships, and new project acquisitions
- Represent the company in high-level meetings with stakeholders and clients
2. Operations & Project Management
- Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle (planning, execution, delivery)
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Monitor project performance, risks, and resource allocation
- Implement best practices in construction and project management
3. Commercial & Business Development
- Drive business development strategies to secure new contracts and projects
- Build and maintain relationships with developers, consultants, and government entities
- Lead contract negotiations, tenders, and bidding processes
- Identify revenue growth opportunities and market positioning
4. Financial Management
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance
- Ensure cost control and profitability across all projects
- Monitor cash flow, project margins, and financial risks
- Work closely with finance team for reporting and compliance
5. Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams (engineering, commercial, finance, HR)
- Develop high-performance culture and accountability
- Oversee recruitment, training, and succession planning
- Ensure clear communication across all departments
6. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with UAE laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Maintain health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
- Implement corporate governance and risk management frameworks
7. Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, investors, and partners
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred
- Minimum 12–15 years of experience in construction/contracting and real estate development
- At least 5–7 years in a senior leadership role (GM / Director level)
- Strong experience in UAE market (mandatory)
