Role overview
The position performs routine testing and analysis in a geochemistry laboratory under the direction of a department supervisor.
The role includes sample handling, laboratory records, equipment support, and quality compliance.
Compensation
- Compensation is $20.50 to $21.50 per hour for 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Identify, prepare, dilute, log, catalogue, store, retrieve, dispose of, or return samples as required.
- Maintain equipment calibration records and monitor equipment maintenance and laboratory supplies.
- Prepare standards and reagents and interpret and evaluate results.
- Follow quality system protocols and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Laboratory environment experience is an asset.
- Good hand-eye coordination is required when handling samples and laboratory equipment.
- Candidates must be able to read and follow work instructions safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Candidates must be proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
