BT Properties is seeking a highly experienced General Counsel to oversee all legal affairs of the company.
The role focuses on Dubai construction law, real estate regulations, and corporate governance for company projects and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal guidance to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with UAE real estate laws, RERA regulations, Dubai construction laws, and corporate governance standards.
- Draft, review, and negotiate construction agreements, joint ventures, lease agreements, and other corporate documents.
- Manage legal risks associated with real estate development, land acquisition, and project financing.
- Liaise with the Dubai Land Department, RERA, and other relevant authorities.
- Handle litigation and dispute resolution, including legal proceedings when required.
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes affecting Dubai real estate and construction.
- Develop and implement internal legal policies and procedures.
- Oversee external legal counsel engagements and law firm relationships.
Qualifications and Experience
- An LLB or equivalent law degree from a recognised institution is required.
- The role requires 10 or more years of legal experience, including at least 5 years in Dubai real estate and construction.
- Strong expertise in Dubai construction law, property law, and regulatory compliance is required.
- Experience managing corporate legal affairs for a large real estate developer is required.
- Exceptional contract negotiation, risk management, and dispute resolution skills are required.
- Candidates should handle complex legal matters and provide strategic business advice.
- Strong leadership and communication skills are required for work with senior executives.
- Additional legal certifications are a plus.
- Bilingual Arabic and English candidates are preferred.
