Job Summary

The General Accountant manages day-to-day financial operations and maintains accurate financial records.

The role supports accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, financial reporting, UAE tax compliance, cash flow, and financial efficiency.

Financial Records and Payables

  • Maintain accounting records, post daily transactions and journal entries, update ledgers, and record expenses.
  • Ensure proper filing and backup documentation for financial transactions.
  • Manage supplier invoices, payment schedules, and vendor payments.
  • Monitor customer invoices, payments, outstanding balances, and credit collection.
  • Verify daily cash and card collections with reception and cashier teams.

Reconciliation and Reporting

  • Perform bank reconciliations and manage petty cash accounts.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Prepare cost analysis reports, workshop profitability sheets, and budget forecasts.

Tax, Payroll, and Assets

  • Assist with VAT filing and track tax records in compliance with UAE tax regulations.
  • Ensure financial operations comply with company SOPs and local laws.
  • Liaise with external auditors during financial audits.
  • Coordinate monthly payroll and employee benefits with HR.
  • Track fixed assets, depreciation schedules, workshop inventory valuations, and stock levels.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • CPA or ACCA certification is an advantage.
  • A valid UAE driving license is preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a General Accountant is required.
  • Hands-on experience with end-to-end accounting, petty cash, and UAE VAT filing is required.
  • Inventory management and job-card costing experience is highly preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in ERP, Zoho Books, Tally, or QuickBooks is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office applications is required.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws and financial reporting principles is required.
  • Professional communication skills in English are required; Arabic is an advantage.
  • The role requires numerical accuracy, analytical thinking, organization, integrity, confidentiality, and deadline management.
