General Accountant

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payments, receipts, and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and management accounts.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and monitor VAT returns and VAT-related transactions.
• Apply UAE Tax and VAT requirements in daily accounting activities.
• Monitor tax compliance and maintain records required by the Federal Tax Authority.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, suppliers, and clients when required.
• Assist with financial statements, budgeting, cash flow, and other accounting reports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable UAE regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax and VAT laws and regulations.
• Ability to correctly apply UAE Tax and VAT requirements in daily accounting activities.
• Good knowledge of FTA procedures, VAT returns, tax invoices, credit notes, input/output VAT, and tax documentation.
• Familiarity with UAE Corporate Tax compliance and filing requirements.
• Strong knowledge of Excel and accounting software.
• Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred qualifications

• Construction or contracting accounting experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of project costing, subcontractor payments, retention, and construction-related accounting is preferred.
• Experience dealing with auditors and tax consultants is preferred.
• UAE VAT/Tax certification or a relevant professional qualification is advantageous.
• Immediate joining is preferred.

Compensation

• Full-time position paying AED 2,308.76–6,451.42 per month.
