Role Overview

The GE APM Technical Lead is responsible for technical understanding, application sustainment, requirements, delivery coordination, and optimization across an application portfolio.

The role works with Digital Solutions and Support, Enterprise Data, Cyber, Cloud, Technical Integration, Solution Architecture, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Location and Employment

  • The role is located in Calgary, Canada and is explicitly remote.
  • The position is a contract role.

Application Sustainment

  • Own application sustainment end to end, including incident and problem management, root cause analysis, change and release management, patching, and lifecycle upgrades.
  • Hold outsourced support partners to consistent change discipline, delivery quality, change management, and service-level expectations.

Delivery and Requirements

  • Partner with Product Owners and subject matter experts to define and document functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Provide pod and offshore leadership from functional design through deployment and break-fix support.
  • Work with vendors and stakeholders on roadmaps, lifecycle strategies, upgrades, and the GE APM upgrade program.

Portfolio Optimization

  • Improve system efficiency, data quality, and reliability through automation, consolidation, and simplification.
  • Support disaster recovery testing, security, compliance, and audit evidence requirements.
  • Provide backup coverage for analyst roles through cross-training, documentation, and knowledge of adjacent portfolios.

Required Qualifications

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration with an Information Technology focus, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in technical business analysis, application lifecycle management, and software implementation.
  • Experience supporting or delivering industrial and operational applications in an asset-intensive environment.
  • Experience directing managed-service or outsourced support partners.
  • Understanding of Agile delivery and oil and gas business processes and technology.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on experience with GE APM, Enterprise PI or AVEVA, Emerson, or comparable asset performance, historian, condition monitoring, and inspection platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with OT and IT integration, predictive and condition-based maintenance, reliability-centred maintenance, and risk-based inspection is preferred.
  • Experience with DevOps, ServiceNow, solution or domain architecture, and AI-enabled use cases is preferred.
