Overall Role Purpose
Supervise a gateway operations team on a rostered shift basis.
Ensure shipments enter and exit the country in accordance with network procedures and transit-time standards.
Your Tasks
- Organize appropriate shifts and staffing levels to meet business requirements.
- Ensure incoming shipments are recovered, broken bulk, inspected, and cleared as efficiently as possible.
- Manage receipt and lodgment of outbound shipments to ensure timely departure and uplift.
- Ensure accurate sorting and optimum loading of inbound and outbound shipments.
- Monitor ground handler and warehouse provider performance and complete required reports.
- Ensure safe working practices and a safe working environment within the shift.
- Participate in gateway quality policies and initiatives, including ISO activities.
- Develop a high-performance service culture and direct an efficient and effective functional department.
- Develop IKOs or KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance.
- Contribute to performance appraisals and manage resource allocation against business objectives.
- Identify training needs and development opportunities for the functional department.
Your Profile
- Demonstrate deep understanding of customs operations, trade compliance, and financial impact.
- Maintain current knowledge of customs laws, GCC regulations, and international trade agreements.
- Build strong relationships with customs and internal teams and lead change across functions.
- Align customs programs with business objectives and regional strategy.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field.
- Customs broker certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Have strong written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Be fluent in English; Arabic is an added advantage.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
