Gateway Operations Supervisor

Overall Role Purpose

Gateway Operations

• Organize shifts and staffing levels to meet business requirements.
• Ensure incoming shipments are recovered, break bulked, inspected, and cleared efficiently.
• Manage receipt and lodgment of outbound shipments for timely departure and uplift.
• Ensure accurate sorting and optimum loading of inbound and outbound shipments.
• Monitor ground-handler and warehouse-provider performance and complete reports.
• Ensure safe working practices and a safe working environment within the shift.
• Participate in gateway quality policies and initiatives, including ISO activities.

Leadership and Performance

• Develop a high-performance service culture within the functional department.
• Plan, organize, and direct an efficient and effective department.
• Develop IKOs and KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance.
• Consult on performance appraisal.
• Allocate resources and staff to achieve global, regional, and country objectives.
• Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled department.

Professional Profile

• Deep understanding of customs operations, trade compliance, and financial impact.
• Current knowledge of customs laws, GCC regulations, and international trade agreements.
• Ability to build relationships with customs and internal teams.
• Ability to lead without direct authority and drive change across functions.
• Ability to align customs programs with business objectives and regional strategy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
• Customs broker certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent English; Arabic is an added advantage.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills.
