GANTRY CRANE OPERATOR

Job summary

Key responsibilities

• Inspect cranes, controls, lifting equipment, hooks, ropes, chains, and other components before work.
• Follow lifting plans, load charts, site procedures, and safety regulations.
• Secure and balance loads before lifting and position them safely at required locations.
• Coordinate with riggers, signalmen, supervisors, and other site personnel.
• Use hand signals and radio communication from the designated signalman.
• Monitor crane capacity and safe working loads.
• Report defects, abnormal sounds, damage, and safety concerns immediately.
• Maintain inspection and operations records where required.
• Keep the operating area clear and perform routine operator-level maintenance and housekeeping.
• Stop operations immediately when an unsafe condition is identified.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Gantry Crane Operator.
• Experience operating heavy lifting equipment in construction, industrial, manufacturing, logistics, or similar environments.
• Knowledge of crane operation, lifting procedures, load limits, and safety practices.
• Ability to follow lifting instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with riggers and signalmen.
• Physical fitness for a demanding industrial or site environment.
• A valid UAE-recognized crane operator certification or license is required where applicable.
• Previous UAE or GCC experience is preferred.

Preferred qualifications

• Relevant crane operator training or certification is preferred.
• Experience with overhead or gantry cranes and heavy-load lifting is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic crane inspection and maintenance procedures is preferred.
• Experience working with lifting supervisors, riggers, and banksmen or signalmen is preferred.

Working conditions

• Work may take place at construction sites, warehouses, factories, ports, or industrial facilities.
• The role may require outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Shift work, overtime, weekends, or public holidays may be required.
• Strict health, safety, and environmental compliance is required.

Pay

• Pay is AED 3,500 to AED 6,000 per month.
