Ganger Class 1 (TIE)

As the Ganger Class 1 is a hands on team leader responsible for overseeing the maintenance, renewal, and safety of railway infrastructure.

Leading a crew of track workers, they coordinate and participate in a range of activities including track repairs, sleeper and rail renewals, crossing maintenance, inspections, and fault rectification to ensure the rail network remains safe, reliable, and operational.

The role combines practical rail maintenance expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring work is delivered efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety for employees, customers, and the broader community.

This is a remote , field based position with no fixed depot or permanent work location.

As work is delivered across various locations/sections of the rail network, the successful candidate will need to be flexible and comfortable working across different locations within the region as operational requirements dictate.

This provides variety in day-to-day work while supporting the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance and renewal activities wherever they are needed.
