Role Overview
- We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Junior Game Developer (Java / libGDX) to work on a contractor basis.
- This person will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining simple 2D game features using Java and libGDX frameworks, which will help train next generation AI systems.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Java and libGDX, and will collaborate closely with AI specialists to design engaging game interactions and collect high quality training data.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize simple 2D game features using Java and libGDX frameworks to ensure high quality and engaging game interactions.
- Collaborate closely with AI specialists to design and implement game mechanics that collect high quality training data for AI models.
- Implement basic game mechanics, including sprite management, game loops, and input handling, to ensure optimal performance and reliability of game modules.
- Troubleshoot and debug code to identify and resolve issues, and participate in code reviews to improve internal coding standards.
- Document technical processes and game development workflows clearly and concisely for cross functional teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Java programming language, with experience in developing games using libGDX frameworks, and a strong understanding of game development principles and practices.
- Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- Experience with collaborative development tools, such as version control systems, and agile development methodologies.
