Responsibilities
- Provide real time over the phone (OPI) and video remote interpretation (VRI) between Fuzhou and English
- Accurately convey meaning, tone, and intent for customers in various industries
- Answer inbound interpretation requests and manage video and phone sessions
- Adhere to confidentiality and professional codes of conduct
- Follow client specific guidelines and document essential session details when required
- Escalate issues according to established procedures
- Collaborate with supervisors and quality teams to continuously improve language accuracy, call handling, and customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Fuzhou and English, with the ability to interpret accurately and fluently in both directions
- Excellent listening, note taking, and memory skills
- Clear, professional verbal communication skills and strong telephone and video presence
- Ability to remain impartial, neutral, and respectful while handling sensitive or complex conversations
- Reliable remote work setup, including a quiet workspace, stable high speed internet connection, and suitable headset/webcam
- High level of professionalism, punctuality, and time management
- Commitment to confidentiality, data privacy, and adherence to client and company policies
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Demonstrated experience in consecutive interpretation, ideally in OPI and/or VRI environments is a plus
- Relevant certification or formal training in interpretation or linguistics is a plus

Role Description
- This is a full time remote role for a Fuzhou OPI/VRI Interpreter at Kalamcx.
- The interpreter will provide real time over the phone (OPI) and video remote interpretation (VRI) between Fuzhou and English, accurately conveying meaning, tone, and intent for customers in various industries.

- Familiarity with basic computer tools, call platforms, and video conferencing software.

- Commitment to confidentiality, data privacy, and adherence to client and company policies.
- Previous BPO, contact center, healthcare, legal, or social services interpretation experience is an advantage.
- Relevant certification or formal training in interpretation or linguistics is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post secondary education preferred.
