- Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems such as LAN, WAN, cloud networks, servers, and other data communications networks.
- Perform strong Smarthands network device rack, stack, patch, troubleshoot and decommission.
- Identify network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, APs) and understand their basic role and functions.
- Provide console access to devices using PuTTY, work on telephonic bridge with remote engineers, share console/PuTTY access via screen sharing software.
- Work with rack elevations, enterprise campus MDF and IDF closets and datacentre environments.
- Perform installs and refresh of routers, switches and APs.
- Patch cabling, power cord connections, closet cable dressing.
- Follow instructions from senior engineers both verbal and written.
- Follow site visit procedures, communication requirements and protocols accurately and reliably.
- Work autonomously without direct supervision and solve unexpected problems on the fly.
Requirements
- More than 24 months of work experience
- English (written and verbal)
- Sound knowledge of network equipment and software: routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, WLAN components
- Experience with OEM portfolio: Cisco, HP/Dell/IBM, Juniper, Bluecoat, Radware, Checkpoint, etc.
- Awareness of Active Directory, Exchange, Apple OS, network and server hardware and components
- IT qualifications may include: PC/Laptop OEM Maintenance Certification, CompTIA A+ Certification and/or CCNA skills, MCITP, MOS

- Strong Smarthands network device rack, stack, patch, troubleshoot and decommission skills.
- Ability to identify network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, APs) and understand their basic role and functions.
- Knowledge and experience with providing console access to devices, using PuTTY to connect to devices, working on a telephonic bridge with remote engineers, sharing console/PuTTY access via screen sharing software.
- Familiar with rack elevations, enterprise campus MDF and IDF closets and datacentre environments.
- Experience with installs and refresh of routers, switches and APs.
- Patch cabling, power cord connections, closet cable dressing.
- Reliable and punctual in an SLA driven schedule.
- Able to follow instructions from senior engineers both verbal and written.
- Accurate and reliable in following site visit procedures, communication requirements and protocols.
- Professional demeanour, strong communication and client facing skills.
- A positive attitude.
- Ability to work autonomously without direct supervision and solve unexpected problems (technical or non technical) on the fly.
Qualifications
