Role Overview
Securitas Canada is seeking professional and reliable Security Guards for multiple vacancies across the Greater Toronto Area.
Assignments may be in corporate and office buildings, private schools, construction sites, or other client locations.
The role provides guarding, monitoring, access control, incident response, and customer service across client sites.
What You Will Do
- Monitor and patrol assigned properties and conduct regular inspections.
- Control access and verify visitors, employees, contractors, and deliveries.
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems and maintain a visible security presence.
- Maintain accurate daily activity and incident reports.
- Respond to incidents and emergencies according to site procedures.
- Enforce client and site-specific security policies.
- Provide professional customer service to employees, visitors, students, contractors, and members of the public.
- Contact emergency services when required and perform other security-related duties.
What We Need From You
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence and First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Strong communication, customer service, observation, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Ability to complete written reports accurately.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Previous security experience is an asset; qualified candidates with strong customer-service backgrounds may be considered for more experienced roles.
- Open availability across days, afternoons, nights, and weekends is preferred, as is a vehicle with a G2 or G licence for some assignments.
Assignment Environments
- Corporate security assignments include reception, access control, CCTV monitoring, patrols, and security reporting.
- Private school assignments support student, staff, and visitor safety, access control, and school-property monitoring.
- Construction site assignments include perimeter patrols, access control, equipment and material monitoring, and overnight or weekend coverage.
Compensation
- Pay ranges from $18.00 to $22.00 per hour depending on assignment, location, experience, licensing requirements, and site responsibilities.
- Assignment availability, pay rate, hours, and site requirements vary by location, experience, and client.
