HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR

The duties and responsibilities for the Assistant housekeeping manager include, but are not limited to the following: • Assists in the, training and career development of all housekeeping employees; assists with performance evaluations and communicating performance standards to employees. • Inspects the level of cleanliness in guest rooms, storage areas, laundry areas, restrooms and public areas. • Assists in scheduling staff according to standards and forecasted occupancy; assigns daily work tasks to employees. • Assists in tracking inventory of linen and cleaning supplies to maintain appropriate levels necessary for efficient operation of the department; assists with monthly linen and supply inventory. • Ensures the completion of the Housekeeper’s Report and communicates clean and available rooms to the Guest Services Department. • Documents and communicates maintenance requests to the Maintenance • Department to ensure hotel service quality standards are met. • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction. • Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates. • Conducts training regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelines. • Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, provincial and local laws, including • Health and Safety, ESA and Human Rights. • Alternate weekend shifts required. • Note: Other duties as assigned by Reporting Manager or designate.

• Education/ Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and two years experience in housekeeping or similar industry, to include supervisory experience. Special consideration will be given to those who exhibit exemplary performance. • Skills: Organizational ability. Attention to detail. Interpersonal communication skills. Ability to motivate and direct others. • Working Conditions: Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. Will be required to work in fast paced, stressful environment. Will be exposed to and working with household chemicals.
