Role Overview
Capital Automotive Equipment is seeking a Forklift Operator to support yard, shipping, delivery, inventory, and customer order activities.
The role supports equipment, machinery, and prefab building operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts to load and unload containers and trailers.
- Work with truck drivers to safely load ordered products and answer general product questions.
- Ensure yard entrants follow safety rules, PPE requirements, and loading standards.
- Perform final product quality checks and report transportation damage to a supervisor.
- Prepare customer picks and special orders.
- Receive and distribute deliveries within the site.
- Collaborate with Customer Service on orders.
- Maintain housekeeping in the yard and site buildings.
- Participate in inventory processes, including cycle counts and seasonal counts.
- Obtain rate quotes and coordinate cost-effective shipments.
- Coordinate order completion dates and shipping schedules with production supervisors.
- Support production, sales and marketing, and plant or office maintenance during seasonal slowdowns.
Requirements
- 3–4 years of experience operating propane forklifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
