About the Role
Algonquin College is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to prepare, analyze, and distribute institutional information using BI tools. You will create data models, reports, and dashboards, and provide guidance to internal clients.

Responsibilities
- Identify appropriate data sources within the data warehouse or other databases
- Create, test and maintain data models to support required solutions
- Create, test and maintain enterprise level reports and dashboards
- Produce and maintain technical documentation for team members and end users
- Perform institutional metric analysis (enrolment, retention, student satisfaction, etc.)
- Perform financial analysis (program costing and overhead analysis)
- Meet with internal clients to provide guidance and support on BI matters
- Determine future reporting needs and establish requirements for new data requests
- Research and stay current with relevant practices, products, technology, programs and tools
Requirements
- Minimum three year diploma or equivalent in Information Technology, Business or related analytical discipline
- Approximately 100 hours of instruction in Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, Microsoft Certified Professional, or Microsoft BI Designation
- Minimum of five years practical experience in a reporting, database administration, analytics or business intelligence role

Job Description
- The incumbent will be responsible for the preparation, analysis, interpretation and distribution of institutional information using a variety of business intelligence and database tools.
- This position is essential in ensuring the accuracy, completeness and reliability of institutional information to both internal and external stakeholders.
- The incumbent will be responsible for the construction of a variety of metadata models and reports.
- As a BI, Reporting and Analytics developer, the incumbent will possess a deep understanding of the Business Intelligence tools and techniques used by the college.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifying appropriate data sources within the data warehouse or other databases.
- Creating, testing and maintaining data models to support the required solutions.
- Creating, testing and maintaining enterprise level reports and dashboards.
- Producing and maintaining technical documentation for team members and end users.
- Performing institutional metric analysis (enrolment, retention and student satisfaction etc.).
- Performing financial analysis (program costing and overhead analysis).
- Meeting with internal clients to provide guidance, support on BI matters.
- Determining future reporting needs and establishing requirements for new data requests.
- Researching and staying current with relevant practices, products, technology, programs and tools.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three year diploma or equivalent in Information Technology, Business or related analytical discipline.
- Approximately 100 hours of instruction in the following: Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft BI Designation.
- Minimum of five years practical experience in a reporting, database administration, analytics or business intelligence role.
Salary Range
- $40.39 $46.64 per hour.
- Scheduled weekly hours: 36.25.
