Full-time freight forwarding sales and business development role based in Melbourne.
The role develops new customers in Melbourne and across Australia rather than relying mainly on inbound enquiries.
The company provides China-Australia freight forwarding and end-to-end logistics solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Target Australian importers, wholesalers, distributors, retailers, e-commerce businesses, and other potential customers.
- Generate leads through cold calling, email, LinkedIn, networking, and referrals.
- Build and manage an individual sales pipeline.
- Understand freight requirements, provide logistics solutions, and prepare quotations.
- Convert prospects into long-term customers and manage the customer portfolio.
- Respond promptly to enquiries and follow customer issues through to resolution.
- Work closely with China and Australia operations teams.
Candidate profile
- Candidates should be responsible, accountable, honest, trustworthy, responsive, proactive, self-motivated, persistent, and customer-focused.
- Previous freight forwarding, international logistics, import/export, B2B sales, or business development experience is highly regarded.
- Existing relationships with Australian importers or China-Australia trade businesses are advantageous.
Compensation
- Pay includes a base salary, superannuation, and uncapped commission.
- Commission is 15% of eligible gross profit generated from self-developed customers.
- Annual pay is listed as $60,000-$65,000.
Company and operations
Phoenix Supply Chain operates in China and Australia with company and warehouse operations in China and a local Australian operations team.
The business provides China-Australia air freight, LCL, FCL, customs clearance, and final delivery solutions.
Operational support is provided by teams in both China and Australia.
Work arrangement
- Work location is in person in Melbourne, Victoria.
