About the Role
NuboVault is seeking a Founding Technical Lead / CTO to architect and build the technical foundation of a next-generation cloud management platform. The role involves leading engineering, defining security architecture, and building the MVP.

Responsibilities
- Audit the 82 page interactive prototype and map API integrations, rate limits, and authentication flows for initial cloud providers.
- Define and document core encryption, zero knowledge mechanics, and key management model; finalize build vs buy decisions.
- Ruthlessly cut the prototype to a lean MVP backlog and advise on staffing needs using AI accelerated workflows.
- Deliver a functioning end to end code slice connecting a single provider, indexing metadata, and securely displaying records.
- Establish internal coding standards, repo policies, and automated deployment pipelines; lead technical screening and interviewing.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably as Tech Lead, Principal Engineer, or Founding Developer at a high growth SaaS startup, cybersecurity company, or VC backed venture.
- Deep practical expertise in security and encryption architecture, including OAuth 2.0, zero knowledge patterns, AES 256, TLS 1.3.
- Proven track record deploying highly scalable backends (e.g., Node.js, Go, or Python) with robust frontends and database structures.
- Experience with AI augmented development workflows and commitment to rigorous human review of security critical code.
- Ability to translate complex engineering compromises into clear business choices for a non technical founder.

Company Overview
- NuboVault is an ambitious, next generation cloud management and optimization platform. Mission: centralize fragmented digital footprint into a single, passwordless, unified dashboard.
- We have built an 82 page clickable visual prototype and are preparing for Q3/Q4 sprint to transition to production ready MVP.
First 30 Days Mandate
- Week 1: Audit prototype, map API integrations, rate limits, authentication flows; build transparent register of top 5 technical risks.
- Week 2: Define encryption, zero knowledge mechanics, key management model; finalize build vs buy decisions; plan external security audit.
- Week 3: Cut prototype to lean MVP backlog; advise on staffing needs using AI accelerated workflows.
- Week 4: Deliver functioning end to end code slice; present final cost/burn analysis for pre seed capital raise.
Core Responsibilities
- Implement secure token handling pipelines, OAuth 2.0 at scale, zero knowledge encryption patterns (AES 256, TLS 1.3).
- Design background multi threaded parsing tools and hash based deduplication engines for cloud and local device directories.
- Establish coding standards, repo policies, automated deployment pipelines; lead technical screening and interviewing.
- Use AI development agents to maximize velocity while ensuring rigorous human review of security critical code.
Capabilities & Credentials
- 5+ years software engineering experience, preferably as Tech Lead, Principal Engineer, or Founding Developer at high growth SaaS or cybersecurity startup.
- Proven track record deploying scalable backends (Node.js, Go, or Python) with robust frontends and database structures.
- Radical candor and engineering integrity; comfortable translating engineering compromises into business choices for non technical founder.
Compensation & ESOP
- Fixed monthly retainer/stipend tailored to location and seniority level.
- Generous Founding Team Equity Allocation (2.5% to 5.0%) under Delaware C Corp stock option plan with 4 year vesting and 1 year cliff.
