Founding Product Lead

Users, UX, and design

• Meet users, understand how they work, observe behaviors, identify pain points, and distinguish requests from underlying problems.
• Test new ideas with users and turn learning into product decisions.
• Design and improve user journeys, make UX decisions, work on interfaces, and maintain a coherent design system.

Candidate profile

• A builder who can discuss product vision and code in the same day.
• Experience building digital products or end-to-end features is viewed as a strong fit.
• Technical ability to understand, modify, and evolve a codebase.
• Interest or experience in AI-assisted software development and rapid prototyping.
• Comfort with ambiguity, a blank page, prioritization, direct user conversations, and independent decisions.
• Sound UX judgment and ability to work effectively with specialized technical experts.

Technical partnership

Compensation and conditions

• Base salary is stated as 80,000 to 120,000 dollars.
• The role includes significant Builder Helper equity, with proposed four-year vesting, a proposed twelve-month cliff, and possible additional grants.
• Hybrid work is offered from a Montréal office.
• Desired start is early October, with direct work alongside the founder and president.

Selection process

• The process may include company-fit assessment, psychometric assessment, technical assessment with ThirdBridge, and a prototype exercise in the codebase.
• The technical assessment focuses on problem-solving, modern tool use, decision-making, codebase navigation, and turning ideas into concrete results.
