The founding engineer brings AI into production for client teams and contributes to the company’s internal AI infrastructure.
The role combines full-stack AI engineering, business transformation, client relationship management, and early-stage company building.
The engineer owns engagements end to end from understanding business needs through deployment.
Responsibilities
- Understand client business problems and develop and deploy AI solutions into production.
- Own client engagements across discovery, development, deployment, and relationship management.
- Support business development, hiring, and operational work in an early-stage environment.
- Build foundational AI infrastructure that helps the company scale efficiently and maintain high velocity.
What makes a good fit
- Experience building and deploying agentic applications using agent SDKs and frameworks.
- Proficiency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.
- Experience deploying applications across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong communication skills with C-suite executives.
- Startup mindset, high ownership, and comfort working with limited handholding.
- Proficiency with AI agents and a desire to work at the frontier of the technology.
- Interest in growing into leadership through mentoring and end-to-end engagement ownership.
Package
- Compensation is CAD 200,000 to CAD 400,000 per year OTE plus equity.
Location and work arrangement
- Full-time hybrid work in Toronto is preferred but is not a hard requirement.
