We’re hiring a Founding Engineer to build, ship, and own core parts of ShiftOS. You’ll be an essential founding engineer at the company, working directly with the CEO and CPO, and your code will power the first wave of enterprise deployments. Ship code daily across the stack: React/Next.js, TypeScript, Python, AWS.

Build distributed backend services and a performant, maintainable frontend.

Design, deploy, and evolve our cloud infrastructure (AWS, Terraform, CI/CD).

Integrate AI/optimization systems into real workflows (scheduling, credentialing, payroll).

Translate customer requirements into simple, scalable solutions.

Lay the groundwork for observability, testability, and developer velocity.

You’re a full-stack builder who ships fast and clean. You’ve put real users on React/Next.js + TypeScript frontends and Python backends, and you’re comfy spelunking across the stack.

You’ve got opinions (earned ones) on AWS, IaC (Terraform), containers, Postgres, queues, caches, CI/CD—then you validate those opinions with metrics.

You’ve shipped AI-native features (LLMs, retrieval, optimization) or you’ve been grinding on them nights/weekends and can show receipts. You care about evaluation, guardrails, and latency, not just vibes.

You think in systems: distributed correctness, observability, resiliency, cost. You build primitives that compound velocity for the whole team.

You’re allergic to over-engineering and legacy theater. Simple beats clever; boring tech that scales beats shiny tech that flakes.

You’re gritty and competitive (yes, actually). You like hard problems, short loops, and owning outcomes end-to-end.

You’re curious and coachable, but not passive. You seek context from customers, PM, GTM, and let that shape the roadmap you execute.

You’re a low-ego teammate who elevates code reviews, docs, and on-call without drama. Humble when learning, loud when it protects reliability or security.
