What you will do
- Turn ambiguous needs into complete, usable products by working with stakeholders and users.
- Build interfaces, backend services, APIs, database models, integrations, and background workflows.
- Use coding agents while taking responsibility for architecture, correctness, security, and maintainability.
- Identify useful applications of models, document processing, retrieval, and automation, then evaluate quality, cost, latency, and failure modes.
- Design reliable contracts and data flows across products and third-party services.
- Write tests, investigate failures, improve observability, release carefully, and verify production user experiences.
- Measure whether work improves adoption, conversion, reliability, efficiency, or delivery speed.
What we are looking for
- A track record of shipping software used by real customers or teams.
- Strong full-stack fundamentals and the ability to navigate unfamiliar codebases.
- Practical experience using Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent AI coding tools for substantial engineering work.
- Ability to review generated code critically, identify flawed assumptions, and explain shipped implementations.
- Confidence with APIs, authentication, relational databases, asynchronous workflows, and third-party integrations.
- Good judgment about state, permissions, retries, and data consistency across systems.
- Clear communication, independence, curiosity, and follow-through.
Relevant experience
- Experience with React or Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, and cloud deployments is relevant.
- Depth in core tools and the ability to learn additional tools are valued.
- Experience in healthcare, fintech, marketplaces, commerce, or other real-world service domains is helpful.

- The role requires balancing speed with visual quality, reliable data, and careful handling of sensitive, financial, or clinical workflows.
- The engineer works closely with founders and users and owns both solutions and their results.
Success in the role
Within the first few months, the engineer is expected to take a meaningful problem from discovery to production, support adoption, demonstrate impact, and take on subsequent challenges with increasing independence.
