Summary
Responsible for performing daily warehouse operations to ensure the safe, accurate receipt, storage, and retrieval of inventory for production needs.
Acts as a backup CDL driver, operating a yard dog style tractor to transport materials between the local offsite warehouse and production facility, and to manage trailer exchanges within the yard.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Drives a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack and count product.
- Loads/Unloads delivery trucks using a forklift, pallet jack, hand cart, or by hand if necessary.
- Ensures inbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; reports quality variances to the Receiving Clerk and Warehouse Supervisor.
- Efficiently moves product to storage areas, and removes for staging to production line(s) in correct locations.
- Pulls and prepares product for production, matching requests with the exact number and type of material.
- Operates robot trolleys to store pallets in racking.
- Serves as back up CDL Driver, transporting materials to/from offsite location and exchanging trailers within the yard.
Required Skills And Abilities
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A required.
- 2+ years of proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
- Clean driving record with no moving violations.
- Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles.
- Alert, focused, and detail-oriented.
- Physically and mentally fit.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
- Ability to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment, including a forklift.
- Ability to communicate effectively and read/interpret documents.
- Experience in warehouse operations.
- Able to pass a background check and drug test.
Education And Experience
- 1-2 years' experience in warehouse operations.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bi-lingual Spanish a plus.
- Certified forklift experience, or the ability to pass certification test.
Work Hours
Monday - Friday, 7am-3:30pm or 8am-4:30pm depending on needs, with occasional overtime as required.
