Responsibilities
- Develop and implement food production strategies, operational plans, manufacturing procedures, and production standards
- Manage end to end food production operations including production scheduling, batch processing, ingredient handling, packaging, equipment utilization, workflow optimization, and output performance
- Lead production teams, supervisors, operators, and technical staff while ensuring effective workforce planning, training, performance management, and operational discipline
- Collaborate with quality assurance, food safety, supply chain, procurement, maintenance, research and development, logistics, regulatory affairs, and executive leadership
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including production output, yield efficiency, waste reduction, downtime, labor productivity, production costs, order fulfillment, quality performance, and operational effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, ISO standards, health and safety regulations, and customer quality requirements
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, process optimization, automation, waste reduction, and operational excellence methodologies
- Analyze production data, manufacturing performance, quality trends, customer requirements, and operational challenges to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions
- Manage production capacity planning, resource allocation, inventory coordination, equipment utilization, preventive maintenance coordination, and production risk mitigation
- Drive technology adoption through Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP systems, production monitoring tools, automation solutions, digital manufacturing technologies, and analytics platforms
- Prepare production reports, operational dashboards, cost analyses, quality summaries, performance reviews, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors, manufacturing teams, food safety personnel, and cross functional stakeholders while fostering a culture of safety, quality, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in food production, food manufacturing, food processing, operations management, or related roles
- 2+ years of experience managing production teams, manufacturing operations, food processing facilities, or industrial production environments preferred
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, food safety regulations, HACCP principles, GMP standards, quality control, production planning, supply chain coordination, and manufacturing operations
- Experience with ERP systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), production planning tools, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, quality management systems, and manufacturing analytics platforms
- Strong leadership, operational, analytical, organizational, problem solving, and decision making skills
- Excellent communication, team management, stakeholder coordination, training, and cross functional collaboration abilities

The Role
