The Welsh Government’s Children and Young People’s Plan as published sets out what Welsh Government will do to support children and young people who are growing up, living and working in Wales. One of the seven overarching priorities is “All children should have the best start in life, including good early years services and support for parents or carers.
They should be supported at home, in childcare and in schools, and when they move between these places.” Anglesey County Council’s Council Plan also supports this aim and this post contributes to that objective.
The post holder will be part of the team delivering the Welsh Government’s phased roll out of the part time, high quality childcare element of Flying Start to 2–3-year-olds, from April 2022, with an emphasis on Welsh language provision.
This post will involve implementing action plans developed by the Early Years Childcare Advisory Manager with the Flying Start childcare providers. The action plans are part of the Flying Start Childcare Guidance and enabling providers to reach Welsh Government Flying Start standards.
The post is part of the early years function withing the Supporting Families Unit within the Children and Families Service in Anglesey County Council.
