Works under the general supervision of the Fleet Manager or designee, receiving broad direction and exercising considerable independent judgment to prioritize, coordinate, and carry out fleet maintenance and emergency response activities.
Provides day-to-day supervision and technical guidance to fleet mechanics, garage staff, and contracted vendors; assigns work priorities, inspects completed repairs, and enforces safety and regulatory compliance.
Work is performed primarily in a garage environment with fluorescent lighting and includes meetings in other offices or facilities. The position may be required to respond to or support off‑hour emergency situations.
Requires the ability to use office equipment and travel to meetings at various locations in and around Cambridge. Work involves vehicle repair, frequent site checks, and driving, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and stretching, with lifting of at least 50 pounds required and more strenuous activity possible depending on the situation.
