As we expand our footprint in Qatar, we are seeking a detail-driven Fixed Asset Accountant to join our finance team in Doha and take ownership of our asset management processes with accuracy and efficiency.
Position Overview
The Fixed Asset Accountant will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of company assets—from acquisition and capitalization to depreciation, tracking, and disposal.
This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate fixed asset register and ensure timely updates
- Record acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and adjustments of fixed assets
- Calculate and post monthly depreciation entries in accordance with accounting policies
- Reconcile fixed asset records with the general ledger
- Conduct periodic physical asset verification and ensure data accuracy
- Prepare fixed asset reports for management and audit purposes
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal accounting standards
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to fixed assets
- Collaborate with procurement and finance teams on asset-related transactions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–4 years of experience in fixed asset accounting or general accounting
- Strong understanding of IFRS and asset capitalization policies
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Good communication and coordination skills
