Key skills for this role
SST Wireless Inc. designs and produces wireless sensor technologies with industrial application. With several new products in the design pipeline, this is an exciting time for creative thinkers who are adept in realizing technical solutions to join us in creating products where your contributions can make a real difference.
As a small, growing team we want you to be able to hit the ground running. We believe innovation is built upon strong fundamentals, fed by those who have kept the spark alive and find reward in the process of making their ideas become reality. Makers and thinkers need apply.
SST is based in Richmond, BC. Our company is growing and is seeking exceptional people to join our team. The role is full time and work in the office is required.
SST Wireless is seeking a Firmware Developer with Hardware knowledge that thrives in a team environment that highly values mutual respect, integrity and cooperative effort. You enjoy working with other smart people and work together to find the best solutions.
Your initial projects will primarily focus on firmware for ARM Cortex M and A series micro-controllers. The A series may involve PRU assembly coding, RTOS code, custom Android builds or Linux. Serial bus protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN, etc. must evoke no trepidation, nor must writing to other cores such as 8051 or MSP430.
Software skills in managing the upstream interaction of your embedded device with various platforms (eg Windows, cloud databases) over various channels (USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, RS232) along with providing a functional interface are valuable. If your talents also extend to PCB layout and prototype assembly, we can certainly make use of all the hats you wear.
For this particular position, there are some core competencies we would like you to have. If you feel we would make a good fit, get in touch with us as soon as possible.
