Job Purpose

  • Reporting directly to the Training Manager, the Fire & Safety Instructor is responsible for delivering high quality training programmes in accordance with the Academy's policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role supports the achievement of strategic training objectives

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in meetings as required, providing professional input on discussions, findings, and decisions.
  • Comply with Academy policies and contribute to the achievement of organisational goals and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate training records, forms, and documentation to ensure readiness for audits and reviews.
  • Deliver assigned training programmes in accordance with approved training procedures and established processes.
  • Conduct classroom based and practical training in firefighting and occupational safety.
  • Provide training to participants on safety procedures, equipment operation, emergency response, and first aid practices.
  • Promote health and safety awareness among trainees to prevent training related injuries and incidents.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards across the Academy's facilities, buildings, and workshops.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to provide technical guidance and support in implementing safety requirements.
  • Work closely with Field Training Instructors to ensure the effective delivery of hands on training activities and personally supervise practical exercises as required.
  • Review and submit all programme related documents, records, and reports to the Training Manager immediately upon completion of each training programme, either electronically or in hard copy.
  • Maintain and retain trainee records and documentation in accordance with the Academy's SOPs and record retention requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Diploma in Firefighting.
  • Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills.
  • Must meet all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
