Fire Protection Engineer at Saudi Sicli — Jeddah, KSA | Base Career

We are seeking a Fire Protection Estimation & Design Engineer with 4–6 years of experience in fire protection systems, with strong capabilities in both estimation and engineering design.

The candidate should be able to prepare complete technical and commercial estimates for firefighting and fire alarm systems and have practical experience with various fire protection technologies.

Prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs for fire protection projects, covering both firefighting and fire alarm systems.
Perform accurate quantity take-offs from engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents.
Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify project requirements, scope, exclusions, and materials.
Prepare estimates for water-based systems, including sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, fire pump, deluge, water spray, and related systems.
Prepare estimates for foam systems, including foam proportioning, foam tanks, foam chambers, monitors, and associated equipment.
Prepare estimates for clean agent and gaseous fire suppression systems, including FM-200, Novec 1230, and similar systems.
Prepare estimates and basic designs for fire alarm systems, including FACP, detectors, modules, MCPs, sounders, interfaces, cabling, and related accessories.
Conduct site surveys and site inspections to verify existing conditions, dimensions, equipment, routing, and installation requirements.
Review and interpret architectural, MEP, structural, and fire protection drawings.
Develop material take-offs and equipment schedules and obtain supplier/vendor quotations when required.
Prepare technical/commercial comparison of materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotations.
Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, design teams, and project teams to obtain accurate project pricing.
Support the preparation of fire protection system designs, layouts, calculations, and technical submittals as required.
Ensure designs and estimates comply with applicable NFPA standards, project specifications, and local authority requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
4–6 years of relevant experience in fire protection estimation and/or design.
Strong experience in both firefighting and fire alarm systems.
Practical knowledge of water-based, foam, clean agent/gaseous suppression, and fire alarm systems.
Strong ability to perform quantity take-offs from drawings and prepare accurate BOQs and cost estimates.
Good understanding of NFPA standards, particularly those applicable to fire sprinkler, hydrant, fire pump, foam, clean agent, and fire alarm systems.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents.
Experience conducting site surveys and assessing existing fire protection systems and site conditions.
Good knowledge of fire protection materials, equipment, installation methods, and suppliers.
Strong Excel and estimation skills.
Good communication and coordination skills with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Experience with AutoCAD and familiarity with fire protection design software is an advantage.
Experience in Saudi/GCC projects and local authority requirements is preferred.
