You’ll be joining a supportive, forward-thinking ICT team where your expertise will make a tangible difference every day. This is a place where you can get hands-on with real technical challenges including troubleshooting, problem-solving and delivering solutions that directly support our Service and our communities.
The Fire ICT Team looks after the critical blue light systems that keep Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service running. This includes the technology that alerts personnel to incidents, the mobile data terminals on fire engines that provide live information at the incident ground, our communication platforms (including mobile, Airwave and WiFi), and the systems that capture operational data used across the organisation to monitor and improve performance.
Based at Ipswich East Fire Station on The Havens, Ransomes Europark, the team supports equipment and systems across all thirty-five fire stations in Suffolk, as well as our primary and secondary Fire Control locations.
No two days are the same. The wide variety of systems, environments and challenges you’ll work with will enable you to build new skills and gain valuable experience you won’t find in many ICT roles.
This role will be worked on-site from a fixed base. The job details above list the location. If you want to discuss how that might affect your work, please talk to the contact person.
