Job Description
The Fire Fighting Technician will install, maintain, test, and repair fire fighting systems in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities.
Systems include sprinklers, fire pumps, hydrants, hose reels, and suppression systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install fire fighting systems according to drawings and specifications.
- Maintain and repair fire pumps, piping networks, sprinkler heads, hose reels, fire extinguishers, and valves.
- Conduct routine inspections and testing to ensure fire protection systems function properly and meet code requirements.
- Identify faults and troubleshoot fire fighting system issues efficiently.
- Work with supervisors and engineers on system upgrades or modifications.
- Document inspections, tests, and maintenance performed.
- Follow safety procedures and comply with local fire safety regulations.
- Coordinate with other MEP teams during project execution.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of fire pumps, sprinkler systems, hydrants, wet and dry risers, and other fire protection systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system schematics.
- Familiarity with NFPA standards and local fire code regulations.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to work at heights or in confined spaces.
