Role overview

Transaction Monitoring Analyst (Staff) role within EY GDS Financial Crime Operations.

Supports global client engagements involving compliance solutions, financial crime controls, and program reviews.

The work covers AML, terrorist financing, anti-bribery, sanctions compliance, fraud, and related financial crime risks.

Key responsibilities

  • Support compliance activities related to AML and counter-terrorist financing.
  • Create process documentation and convert complex processes into easy-to-follow instructions.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and maintain operational readiness of applications and processes.
  • Escalate issues clearly to leadership, onshore teams, and client teams.
  • Apply AI tools and automation techniques to financial crime compliance workstreams.

Transaction monitoring focus

  • Review transfers, deposits, withdrawals, and other customer transactions for suspicious activity.
  • Assess historical and current customer information and interactions for financial crime risks.
  • Investigate and report suspicious activity, including AML concerns, through SAR processes.
  • Apply knowledge of transaction monitoring risks in wealth management, commercial banking, corporate, and correspondent banking.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, law, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of AML transaction monitoring experience.
  • Experience in consulting or a large corporate environment with knowledge of global financial crime compliance.
  • Understanding of SAR drafting, AML regulatory reporting, banking products, financial statements, and policy documents.
  • Proficiency in transaction monitoring systems and emerging AI capabilities and tools.
  • Willingness to work from the office five days per week, work shifts or Indian holidays when required, and travel as needed.

Preferred qualifications

  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
