About the Opportunity

Workplace

• This is a hybrid role with one to two days in the office.
• The office is located across from Guildford Mall in Surrey, British Columbia.

Finance Leadership and Reporting

• Oversee Canadian accounting, reporting, financial control, and transactional finance, including direct management of a small team.
• Deliver monthly and quarterly financial reporting and KPIs, and continuously enhance reporting capabilities.
• Prepare annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range plans.
• Monitor forecasting accuracy, risks, opportunities, and profit improvement actions.
• Use investment modeling to evaluate project viability.

Compliance and Governance

• Manage financial compliance, regulatory matters, quarterly SOX reporting, and internal controls.
• Ensure reporting and accounting comply with local and US GAAP policies.
• Lead statutory audits and preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Oversee tax compliance, reporting, audits, and transfer pricing studies.

Business Partnership and Transformation

• Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to support growth and informed decision-making.
• Lead finance transformation, reporting improvement, internal-control automation, and company-wide initiatives.
• Manage treasury and working-capital matters, including debtor and creditor processes.

People Leadership

• Lead, coach, recruit, and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Maintain development plans, performance reviews, meaningful one-to-one conversations, and an inclusive collaborative environment.

What You’ll Bring

• CPA designation with at least 5 years of post-designation experience.
• Experience in the SaaS or technology sector and a record of leading, transforming, and building accounting teams.
• Experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership, with the ability to explain complex financial issues clearly.
• Experience in a highly regulated or globally listed organization and knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, IFRS, or local GAAP.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central, or NetSuite is preferred.

Finance Technology and Tools

• Finance systems include Microsoft Business Central, Great Plains, JD Edwards, Oracle HFM, and Oracle PBCS.
• CRM platforms include Salesforce and HubSpot.
• Productivity tools include Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation and Benefits

• The posted base salary range is $120,000 CAD to $135,000 CAD.
• Benefits include 3% RRSP matching, health coverage, paid vacation, unlimited paid flex days, and a paid birthday day off.
