The Role
The Family Treatment Service is seeking a Finance Controller for a hands-on end-to-end finance role with responsibility from data entry and reconciliations through management accounts, forecasting, and cash flow modelling.
The role also provides HR coordination and administration support to the Managing Director in a growing SME environment.
The organisation is a not-for-profit multidisciplinary mental health clinic with an associated private GP practice.
Contract and Pay
- The role is employed, part time, and scheduled for 25 hours per week with flexible working hours.
- Salary is pro rata of £60,000 to £70,000 full-time equivalent, depending on experience.
Finance Responsibilities
- Manage daily finance operations, including data entry, sales ledger, purchases ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, trial balance reconciliations, forecasts, variance analysis, budgets, and cash flow reporting.
- Maintain financial records, controls, accounting compliance, VAT returns, statutory filings, and year-end accounts.
- Liaise with accountants, auditors, banks, advisors, and financial consultants.
- Use Xero to improve financial reporting accuracy, efficiency, automation, and dashboards.
HR Administration
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation in the HR software system.
- Maintain holiday, absence, and training records and support HR policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
- Manage payroll and pension administration, respond to HR queries, and liaise with external HR advisors.
Essential Requirements
- ACCA or ACA qualified with approximately five years of post-qualified experience in a similar role.
- Strong Xero experience and experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting in an SME environment.
- Experience supporting Managing Directors with data analytics, cash and profit forecasting, and budget building.
- Strong knowledge of UK VAT, including partial exemption, payroll, and accounting standards.
- Strong spreadsheet and IT skills, independent working ability, accuracy, communication, and organisational skills.
Desirable Experience
- Previous SME or owner-managed business experience.
- Experience supporting HR administration and understanding HR best practices and legislation.
- A proactive, adaptable, and process-improvement mindset.
Location and Working Pattern
- The role is hybrid, with a minimum of one day per week in the Wimbledon Village office.
- The position is based at the clinic in Wimbledon, with work-from-home flexibility.
