West Midlands Police is seeking a Financial Accountant to support the Head of Financial Accounting & Tax. The role involves capital accounting, treasury management, VAT returns, and cash flow forecasting.

Responsibilities
- Prepare reliable cash flow forecasts to ensure informed decisions on investments and borrowings
- Undertake treasury management activities, including daily trading for investments
- Draft treasury reporting for the force, including monthly Treasury Reports, annual Treasury Outturn Statement, and annual Treasury Management Strategy
- Prepare and review monthly VAT returns to ensure compliance with tax legislation
- Complete the Capital Outturn, updating the Fixed Asset Module for all changes, year end financing journals, and IFRS16 adjustments

Job Description
- The Finance Team at WMP aims to provide accurate, concise, consistent and timely financial and non financial information.
- This Financial Accountant role is pivotal to this mission.
- We are seeking someone with wide ranging experience of capital accounting and treasury management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare reliable cash flow forecasts to ensure informed and timely decisions on investments and borrowings.
- Undertake treasury management activities, including daily trading for investments.
- Draft treasury reporting for the force, including monthly Treasury Reports, annual Treasury Outturn Statement, and annual Treasury Management Strategy.
- Prepare and review monthly VAT returns to ensure compliance with tax legislation.

Hours of Work and Flexibility
- Full time position working between core hours of 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday.
- Hybrid working with 60% of working days on site.
