controlling, and financial reporting across our legal entities - and we are growing our capability in
Pune to meet an expanding project agenda.
As Finance Transformation Consultant, your primary contribution is Finance process knowledge and
consulting capability: the ability to walk into a process, understand how it works, identify where it
breaks down, and define what a better solution looks like. You will frame requirements, align
stakeholders, and drive solutions to adoption - in a team that values independence, intellectual
curiosity, and a bias toward action.
Your key responsibilities
Drive Finance process diagnosis and improvement: Analyse existing Finance processes - particularly in month-end close, cost controlling, and management reporting - to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for standardisation across Sulzer’s legal entities
Frame and structure requirements: Translate Finance process problems into clear, well-structured briefs that technical colleagues, BI developers, and digital tools can act on - ensuring the Finance logic is sound before any tool is built
Drive rollout and adoption: Own the end-to-end delivery of process improvements - from stakeholder alignment through configuration, testing, and rollout of Power Apps, SharePoint List, and Power Automate–based solutions that support knowledge transfer and month-end closing process coordination, to user training and adoption tracking
Collaborate across functions and geographies: Work closely with Finance stakeholders, BI developers, IT, and the broader Finance & Analytics team across multiple time zones - managing your own workstream and communicating proactively to keep projects on track
Contribute to the team’s transformation agenda: Bring forward ideas and proposals for how we can tackle problems more effectively - whether through process redesign, smarter use of data, or the application of emerging digital tools including AI
What you’ll need to succeed
MUST HAVE - EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Finance role with direct exposure to process improvement - ideally in controlling, FP&A, or financial reporting
Proven ability to independently diagnose a Finance process problem, structure it clearly, and write a brief that a technical colleague can act on
Experience managing your own workstream across geographies and time zones, with examples of stakeholder communication without close supervision
MUST HAVE - SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Strong analytical and structured thinking skills - you approach problems logically, define them precisely, and communicate your reasoning clearly
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with Finance stakeholders, technical colleagues, and senior leadership across cultures
Fluent in English to a professional standard
SHOULD HAVE / NICE TO HAVE
Experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors
Exposure to rollout and user adoption - training, feedback loops, driving behaviour change beyond go-live
Understanding of how Finance data flows through ERP systems - what it represents, how it is structured, and what good reporting requires
Familiarity with digital tools in a Finance context (reporting platforms, workflow automation, analytics environments) - not as a builder, but enough to have an informed conversation with one
Experience working in or with shared service centres or centres of excellence
