- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance
- Partner with Project Managers, Commercial Directors, and Executives to provide financial clarity and drive project profitability
- Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage the end to end process for bank letters, letters of credit (LCs), bank guarantees, and performance/bid bonds
- Maintain strong relationships with commercial banks and financial institutions to secure competitive rates and facilities
- Ensure compliance with all banking covenants and timely release/reduction of expired bonds and guarantees
- Monitor project by project cash flows, recognizing unique capital constraints and milestone based payment structures
- Oversee Work in Progress (WIP) models, revenue recognition (Percentage of Completion), and cost to complete forecasting
- Manage working capital efficiently, tracking sub contractor payments, retention payables, and client invoicing/receivables
- Assess financial risks associated with ongoing and upcoming construction projects
- Ensure strict compliance with local tax laws, industry regulations, and internal controls
- Coordinate internal and external audit processes
Requirements
- Minimum of 5–7 years of financial management experience
- At least 3+ years within the Construction sector (is a plus)
- Proven track record in a leadership or supervisory role, managing accounting teams and collaborating with project operations
- Demonstrated experience handling complex banking facilities (Bonds, Guarantees, LCs) and navigating bank credit committees
- Deep understanding of accounting principles (e.g., WIP, revenue recognition, retention, and variations)
- Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and expert level Excel skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, or CA is highly preferred
