Your Role
- As the Finance Controller , you will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in reporting and decision-making. You will provide strategic financial guidance to the General Manager while upholding Hyatt’s values of accountability, respect, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all property accounting and financial reporting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and forecasts in compliance with Hyatt standards.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes, by line of business, to support business decisions.
- Ensure full compliance with provincial and federal taxation requirements , including preparation and submission of corporate, HST/sales, and Income tax returns, including preparation and submission of corporate, HST, and Income tax returns.
- Maintain robust internal financial controls across all hotel departments, ensuring compliance with policies and safeguarding of assets.
- Provide financial insights to the Ownership, General Manager and department heads to optimize operational performance.
- Analyzing and controlling the hotel's operating costs, identifying opportunities to improve financial efficiency.
- Track debt servicing obligations , including loan repayments, interest schedules, and compliance with lender covenants.
- Manage the FF&E reserve in coordination with Ownership and property leadership to preserve capital and enhance returns without undue risk.
- Consolidate property-level financial results with corporate accounts to ensure accurate reporting and alignment with ownership objectives
- Supervise and develop accounting team members, as required, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies as needed.
- · Analyzing contracts with suppliers, partners and other external companies on legal aspects and compliance rules
