About the Role
The Finance Consultant will establish the finance function during a build and transition phase and then continue in an advisory capacity.
The role designs systems and processes, guides team formation, supports Oracle Fusion integration, establishes payment infrastructure, and advises the CEO.
Routine finance operations and line management will transfer to the internal team after readiness criteria are met.
Engagement Stages
- The assignment has a build and transition stage followed by an advisory stage.
- During the build stage, the consultant establishes systems, controls, processes, integrations, and team capability.
- During the advisory stage, the consultant conducts periodic reviews, provides strategic guidance, supports escalations, and advises the CEO.
Finance Systems and Team
- Design and implement finance systems, internal controls, and financial policies.
- Document SOPs for accounting, procurement, payables, receivables, payroll, treasury, and reporting.
- Establish compliance frameworks aligned with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, development, role definition, KPIs, and training for the finance team.
- Build team capability so day-to-day finance operations become self-sufficient.
Oracle and Payments
- Lead finance-functional oversight for Oracle Fusion Financials implementation.
- Coordinate configuration, data migration, go-live, implementation partners, IT teams, and process owners.
- Align finance processes and SOPs with Oracle Fusion workflows and reporting capabilities.
- Evaluate payment gateways and manage provider relationships.
- Oversee payment integration and establish reconciliation, settlement tracking, and controls.
Strategic Advisory and Governance
- Advise the CEO on investment decisions, capital allocation, and financial structuring.
- Provide analysis on subsidiaries, new business lines, and expansion opportunities.
- Support business cases, financial modeling, and due diligence for strategic initiatives.
- Establish management and statutory reporting frameworks.
- Work with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory bodies.
- Present periodic financial performance and insights to leadership.
Candidate Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- Oracle certification in Oracle Fusion Financials or a related area is mandatory.
- Experience in a multinational corporation environment is required.
- Experience establishing finance functions in startup, scale-up, or new-entity environments is required.
- Hands-on Oracle Fusion Financials implementation or integration experience is required.
- Payment gateway selection and integration experience is required.
- Experience building and managing a finance or accounting team is required.
- Investment and subsidiary or group-structure advisory experience is highly desirable.
