This part-time Reporter role is based in Dubai with a hybrid arrangement combining on-site and work-from-home flexibility.
Research and report on governance, civic participation, and political accountability issues that support the organization’s goals.
Responsibilities
- Identify newsworthy topics and conduct interviews.
- Gather facts and data and produce accurate news and feature stories.
- Create content for digital and multimedia platforms.
- Collaborate with the communications team to shape story angles.
- Adapt content for different formats.
- Ensure reporting follows ethical standards and the organization’s mission.
- Monitor local and global developments relevant to political reform.
- Contribute ideas for ongoing campaigns and coverage.
Qualifications
- Strong reporting and news-writing skills.
- Clear communication and writing abilities for diverse audiences and platforms.
- Experience with multimedia content creation, including video, audio, or social media formats.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid setup, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated interest in politics, civic engagement, or public affairs.
- Prior journalism or media experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with basic fact-checking and ethical reporting standards.
- Strong attention to detail and critical-thinking skills.
- Relevant academic background in journalism, communications, political science, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
