About the Role
Harmonic is supporting a fast-growing consumer fashion scale-up in Birmingham seeking a Finance Assistant. This broad transactional and month-end support role involves purchase ledger, VAT returns, and payroll administration.

Responsibilities
- Support month end close processes and assist with year end audit preparation
- Maintain the purchase ledger and process supplier invoices accurately and on time
- Prepare weekly payment runs for review and approval
- Support the preparation of VAT returns and perform reconciliations
- Own the goods in transit accounting process, ensuring carriage and duty costs on stock received each month are complete and accurate
- Investigate and resolve supplier discrepancies, liaising with internal teams as needed
- Assist with payroll administration and preparation of payroll changes for approval
- Partner with the data team on ad hoc projects to strengthen controls and finance processes as the business scales
Requirements
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts function
- Strong Excel skills with confidence handling large data volumes
- High attention to detail and sound organisational skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working at pace and managing competing priorities
- AAT Level 3 or 4 qualified or actively studying towards AAT (desirable)
- Two or more years in a finance role (desirable)
- Experience within ecommerce, fashion, retail, or high growth consumer business (desirable)
- Familiarity with payroll processes (desirable)
- Experience with accounting software, ideally Xero (desirable)

The Role
- Reporting into the finance team, this is a broad transactional and month end support role within a fast growing, multi entity consumer business operating across the UK, Europe, and the US.
