MEPPIs Service Center Division (SCD) is seeking a Field Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of transmission and distribution equipment. In this role, you will work hands-on with switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers , protective relays, and control systems to help ensure reliable and safe power solutions for our customers.
What Youll Do:
Deliver On-Site Support: Perform installation, preventative and remedial maintenance, field modifications, and testing of equipment division products at customer sites.
Troubleshoot with Confidence: Conduct routine troubleshooting and repair of transmission and distribution equipment to restore proper operation.
Lead with Safety: Facilitate morning jobsite briefings covering planned work activities, hazards and mitigations, and safety precautions and plans.
Promote a Safe Work Environment: Conduct safety observations and submit reports to support data analysis and continuous improvement.
Document with Accuracy: Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all services provided.
Stay Professional: Submit accurate and timely expense reports in accordance with company policies.
Build Strong Relationships: Support the goals of the Service Center Division by fostering positive relationships and conducting business professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
What You Bring:
Education: Associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or a related technical field, with 01 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing technical, electrical, and/or electronic productsor equivalent education and experience.
Technical Skills: Intermediate knowledge and proficiency with mechanical and electronic test equipment.
Problem-Solving Ability: Intermediate analytical and troubleshooting skills to support field service activities.
Communication: Intermediate interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to effectively engage with customers, employees, and suppliers.
Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret detailed equipment schematics and facility one-line drawings.
Technology Proficiency: Intermediate computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products, MRP/ERP systems, and company timekeeping and expense reporting tools.
