Role Overview
Field Engineers connect Weatherford technologies with operational challenges on oil and gas rigs.
The role is hands-on and may involve work at remote rig sites in onshore and offshore environments.
Development Program
Participants join a four-year Field Engineer Technical Development Program combining classroom learning and practical experience.
The program begins with guided work and hands-on training, followed by increasing wellsite responsibility and technical development.
Later program years may include leading wellsite teams and serving as a primary client contact.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Prepare, deploy, and operate advanced downhole tools for wellsite objectives.
- Use simulation software to design and optimize solutions for client needs.
- Analyze performance data and recommend improvements.
- Manage equipment logistics and rig-site setup and operation.
- Create post-job reports and share insights with clients and internal teams.
- Provide frontline engineering support and resolve operational issues independently.
- Promote continuous improvement with emphasis on safety, quality, and performance.
