The Field Engineer II plays a key role in the successful deployment, commissioning, and support of professional AV systems. This position requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on troubleshooting skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, programming, service, and client teams throughout the lifecycle of a project.
Candidates should have working knowledge of Bluum’s three primary control platforms—Crestron, Extron, and QSC—as well as experience configuring industry-standard AV networks. The ideal candidate will also have experience with DSP design across multiple platforms and intermediate programming knowledge of at least one of Bluum’s preferred DSP platforms, Biamp or QSC.
Prepare AV systems for deployment, including firmware upgrades, loading and pre-testing code, and configuring standalone AV networks.
Configure systems in the field to ensure all project scope and functionality requirements are met.
Collaborate with programmers to remotely identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues.
Commission AV systems according to Bluum standards, including extended commissioning requirements when included in the client’s scope.
Identify potential system enhancements or change-order opportunities and communicate recommendations to clients and internal teams.
Train clients on proper system operation and maintenance, when applicable.
Assist technical service teams with troubleshooting and break/fix issues.
Provide on-site support for complex technical issues as needed.
Troubleshoot system functionality and provide technical support to customers experiencing issues with AV systems or components.

Diagnose hardware, software, control, DSP, and network-related issues to determine appropriate solutions.
Collaborate with fellow Field Engineers to ensure consistent implementation of Bluum standards and best practices.
Provide Design Engineers and Programmers with real-world feedback regarding system standards, functionality, and field performance.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, engineers, programmers, technicians, and sales teams.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and provide effective end-user training.
