Position Overview

Responsibilities

• Lab Preparation: Under the guidance of faculty or Simulation Coordinator, prepare materials and equipment necessary for skills labs or simulations. Setup and Maintenance: Set up, replenish, and break down materials and equipment, ensuring the lab area remains clean and organized. Inventory Management: Assist with stocking and inventory of lab supplies, ensuring adequate resources are available for educational activities. Student Assistance: Greet and log students in and out during Open Lab sessions, directing them to assigned workstations or beds as needed. Event Support: Provide assistance during events related to the nursing lab, including setup, cleanup, conducting lab tours, and aiding participants. Exam Proctoring: Assist with exam proctoring, ensure compliance with academic integrity policies, and report any issues as necessary. Flexible Schedule: Work hours will vary based on student class schedules and departmental needs, including occasional evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements: Some tasks may involve lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. Qualifications:
• Current enrollment as a student at Phoenix College committed to the entire academic year (Fall 2024 through Spring 2025). Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ensuring lab materials are prepared and maintained appropriately. Effective communication skills to interact positively with students, faculty, and visitors. Service-minded attitude, willing to go the extra mile to support fellow students and contribute to a collaborative learning environment. Prior experience in a healthcare or educational setting is preferred but not required. Benefits:

Minimum Qualifications

• Superior customer service and professional communication skills Experience using computer software such as current Microsoft Office Products, internet browsers, and email Knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, and equipment Ability to follow written and oral instructions Effective time management and organizational skills

Desired Qualifications

• Bi-lingual English/Spanish Leadership, community involvement, or volunteer experience Completed 12+ credit hours (1 semester) Competency with professional social media Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA

Additional Requirements

• Student must be attending Phoenix College during the current semester (enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits).
• In order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information prior to applying to a Federal Work-Study job.
• FWS is a need-based, federally funded program.
• FWS requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and confirmation of federal work-study eligibility as determined by the financial aid office.
• FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program.
• The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals.
